About Stavemusic
Making sheet music readable, playable, and editable — for everyone.
Our Story
Stavemusic was born out of a simple frustration: sheet music PDFs are everywhere, yet interacting with them — transposing a key, slowing down a tricky passage, hearing how an inner voice sounds, or reharmonising a melody — has always demanded expensive, specialised software, steep learning curves, or hours of manual transcription. I set out to fix that with a single drag-and-drop upload and a few seconds of AI processing.
What began as a personal tool to make my own practice easier has grown into something I want every musician to have access to: students learning a new piece, teachers preparing lessons, hobbyists rediscovering an old book of jazz standards, and composers sketching ideas on the fly. I believe the barrier between a printed score and a fully interactive musical experience should be zero — and that great musical tools shouldn't cost more than a meal.
About Me
Hi, I'm Jerry Ajay — a native of Bangalore, India. I began my journey in computer science completing my undergrad in Bangalore before crossing oceans to earn my MS and PhD in Computer Science and Engineering at the University at Buffalo, USA. I had the privilege of working with brilliant teams at HPE Labs in California and at Qualcomm - developing state-of-the-art Multimedia Audio chipsets. I spent a short but rewarding stint as a Professor at the State University of New York at Brockport.
Entrepreneurship drives me — the chance to build something from the ground up, to ship the kind of work that feels closest to my heart, where music and technology meet.
If you'd like to chat about music, technology, or anything in between, I'd love to hear from you at jerryajay@stavemusic.com.

Our Values
Music first
Every product decision starts with the musician's experience, not the technology.
Speed matters
From upload to playback in seconds. We obsess over latency so you don't have to wait.
Accuracy above all
A wrong note in the transcription is worse than no transcription. We hold ourselves to a high bar.
