1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Stave (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Stave is a web application that allows users to upload PDF files of sheet music, extract musical notation using AI, and play back the resulting score in the browser. The Service is provided on a subscription basis with a limited free tier.

3. User Accounts

You must sign in with a valid Google account or email address to use the Service beyond the free tier. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis (weekly, monthly, or annually) depending on the plan you select at checkout. All fees are stated in your local currency where supported, and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.

By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method automatically at the start of each billing period. Failure to pay may result in suspension or termination of your account.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload content you do not have the right to use or distribute.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract the underlying AI models or prompts.
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
• Resell or sublicense access to the Service without our written consent.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, and AI-generated output, is owned by Stave and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of any PDF files you upload. We do not claim ownership of your uploaded content, but you grant us a limited licence to process it solely to provide the Service.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that AI extraction will be accurate for every score, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Use of the extracted notation for performance or publication is at your own discretion and risk.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stave shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice in the Service at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Stave is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
